TX trip
Finally found a way to get Mapsource to talk to my Garmin Nuvi 3490LMT! The routes from the computer now appear in the Nuvi's memory. Why Garmin messed with a perfectly functioning piece of software that you could edit routes on the computer and then send them to the Nuvi is totally beyond my understanding!! Isn't the purpose of a GPS to get you from point A to point B?
Evidently that simple fact is completely ignored by the Garmin programmers! Basecamp is crap software that does not work half as well as Mapsource for making a route from point A to point B!
It has taken me several years to make the Nuvi accept the Mapsource routes! Much searching with Google finally gave me sufficient clues to make the Nuvi behave!
Improvement! You have to be kidding!! I probably will not purchase another Garmin when the Nuvi dies. I replaced the battery twice in my Nuvi 750. There was no traffic nor mp3 player or bluetooth BUT the Nuvi 750 and Mapsource worked perfectly to get me from point A to point B. Unfortunately, something fired internally after the second battery replacement resulting in my purchase of the Nuvi 3490LMT.
