Micro$oft
It is truly amazing, how Micro$oft has stopped giving value in its products.
First they develop the "ribbon" to replace the File, Edit....standard that is easily learned and worked on all products. There is much to be said for having a standard UI across many different products. Once learning the File, Edit...standard many different programs are now accessible by computer users without large instruction manuals.
Second they try to shoehorn a phone OS onto the desktop, which is a completely horrible idea since now everyone has to relearn how to use a computer. This does not help anyone get more work done, it just causes many delays in getting the real work of the world finished on time.
Third, they combine the first and second developments into Office, AND change the pricing to a yearly charge rather than a one time purchase. No one in their right mind, should be purchasing Office on a yearly basis!! Especially since all the users have to relearn how to do what they already know how to do!! Just FOOLISH!!
The only purpose that is apparent for the above changes is for Micro$oft to be able to receive large sums of money from its customers without a corresponding increase in value of the product being sold.
All of the Windows 8 speed and other improvements could have been done without changing the UI for the people who use a computer to get real work done; we should not be forced to relearn how to use the computer to get the improvements in Windows 8!!! It should not be necessary to drop to the Windows desktop from the Metro UI, nor use Stardock's Start8 to get the Orb back!!
