Logmein Ruined Free Hamachi
For many years Hamachi was my software of choice. It worked very well, remote access to my computers was available where ever I had an Internet connection. The connection was secure. All in all a great piece of software. And best of all, it was free!
Then Logmein purchased Hamachi. Hamachi worked just as before. Free, and outstanding software in all respects. Without warning, Logmein changed the IP addresses, without warning Logmein changed the number of computers that could be part of a group. All changes that were tolerable.
Unfortunately, now Logmein has decided that free is not something they wish to continue. They are now charging $49 per each pair of computers. Totally unacceptable for personal use!! If I ran a company, or had a company expense account, that would reduce my profit by $49 per each pair of computers the charge might be acceptable. That does not describe my position. I use computers for personal purposes only.
Fortunately, there is a solution. TeamViewer10, works better than the Hamachi software published by Logmein. It installs with way less hassle then Logmein Hamachi. TeamViewer10 works smoother and much quicker that Logmein Hamachi. THANKS Logmein for forcing me to use a better piece of software and a piece of software that is free for personal use!!
I should have changed prior to today. Very well pleased with TeamViewer10. It works better than Logmein Hamachi, and the change was totally painless. Just removed Logmein Hamachi, installed TeamView10 and all is perfect!!
