My first computer purchase was an Apple ][, for the time this was an outstanding computer, expensive BUT it worked well and there were a great many things that this computer could be used to accomplish. It was a great learning experience and provided much enjoyment. My second computer and until now my last Apple computer was a SE/30 with internal and external hard drive. After that purchase, my next computers have all been Windows PCs. The price of Apple products has always been higher than the value provided. Most of my computers have been at least one generation old when purchased, many times two generations old.
However, now the price on an Apple 16 mini was too good to pass up. Facetime is an exceedingly neat application. It just works! Not only that, Facetime works very well, there is none of the Skype lag and jump. Sightspeed was a very good PC application BUT that product has been discontinued! Truly a bummer!!!
The mini using Facetime is a very useful device. The images are crisp and clear, with no lag in the audio or video; a great computer.
